Gallery 113 - Membership Information

About Gallery 113

Gallery 113 is a cooperative, artist‑run gallery in downtown Colorado Springs. We’re a community of local artists who share space, work, and promotion.
(Members must live in the Colorado Springs area. Free parking is available for the artist on duty.)

How to Apply

To be considered for membership:

  • Complete the online Gallery 113 application form (click on button)

  • Applications are kept on file for one year. You’ll be contacted when a space becomes available.

Membership Process

  • When a member leaves, their space is offered first to current members, then to new applicants.

  • The Membership Committee reviews applications and invites selected artists to present their work for jurying at the next monthly meeting.

Membership Costs

  • Monthly cost: $30 per share. (3 share minimum)

    • 3 shares = $90/month

    • 4 shares = $120/month

    • 5 shares = $150/month

  • 3 shares = about 35 sq. ft. of wall space, or about 20 sq. ft. for a 3D display.

  • One‑year Membership Contract with a one‑time buy‑in fee of $10 per share (3‑share minimum).

  • No gallery commission on art sales.

  • Members vote on any increases if expenses change.

Work Commitment

Workdays scale with shares; all members contribute equally to operations.

  • 3 shares = 11 days per year

  • 4 shares = 15 days per year

  • 5 shares = 19 days per year

Gallery hours: 11 AM–5 PM, seven days a week (closed on major holidays).
Members also:

  • Serve on a committee or hold a gallery role

  • Attend monthly meetings, First Friday Art Walks, and special events

  • May be a Featured Artist once per year (includes a window display)

Presentation Standards

Artists curate their own display space but must maintain a clean and professional presentation. Gallery 113 does not allow overtly religious, sexually explicit, or offensive artwork.

Sales and Taxes

The gallery uses Square for all retail transactions.

  • New artists receive training on the system.

  • The gallery tracks and files sales tax—artists do not need their own license for gallery sales.

  • Sales made outside the gallery are the artist’s own responsibility.

Website and Promotion

Members must provide current images of their work for the gallery’s website.
Gallery 113 links to individual artist websites, and we encourage members to maintain an active site—it enhances your professional presence and benefits the gallery’s visibility.
