Watercolors, Oils, Acrylics
Denise Duker’s work is inspired by the beauty of the Colorado landscape and everywhere else her wanderlust has taken her. Her father was a painter, so she began painting in elementary school in oils which was the choice medium around the house.
She hasn’t put down the paint brush since, continuing her studies with a BFA from Sacramento State, a MAEd from Auburn, leading her to teaching art for 18 years. Learning from master painters has helped her art to develop in different directions and to two published Children’s books.
Painting in oils, acrylics, watercolors, and whatever medium beckons is the spark that keeps her art alive and vibrant. Painting from travels, personal photos, and on the spot plein aire make each work a unique in the moment experience.
Denise’s work can be found in private collections, UC Health Center, Pikes Peak Carniege Library and the Reserve Our Gallery, Woodland Park, and Gallery 113 in Colorado Springs.
