Allan Bach M.D.
Woodworker

Al Bach is a retired orthopedic surgeon and has engaged in artistic pursuits since childhood.  Originally studying architecture after high school, he changed courses and entered medical school.  This led to a career in orthopedic hand surgery in Seattle, Washington and in Colorado Springs.  During those 34 years he was constantly drawing, sculpting or building furniture as a diversion.  After acquiring a 1940’s era lathe from his father in 2002, he started doing woodturnings.  Al established Skyway Bowlworks in 2012 and has exhibited and sold his work.

First Friday in October. New work from Skyway Bowlworks. Most of the pieces are made from local trees harvested in the last two years. I find this much more challenging than using kiln dried wood.
