Pattie Bowler
Abstract Artist
Pattie began painting shortly before retiring after 35 years as a flight attendant with United Airlines. Her work is primarily in acrylics and she is constantly experimenting with the process, pushing the envelope for changes in results. With a passion for colors and shapes in her abstracts, she defines the intuitive process with multi layers of color. The end result of a painting rarely resembles the initial start of the piece.
During travels with her husband, Pattie gathers experiences and images for her work as an artist. She is a Signature Artist with the Southwestern Watercolor Society, a member of the National Watercolor Society, the American Watercolor Society, the California Watercolor Association, the Pikes Peak Watercolor Society, and the Colorado Watercolor Society. Volunteering her time with these groups is an important part of her growth as an artist and she states that “having art buddies” brings inspiration and a positive energy to her work.
For Pattie, it is a constant process acknowledging the conversation between the colors and shapes. The end result is a desire to effect and produce a painting that will translate to the viewer.
